Bulbs of course!

Silly me, why didn’t I think of them before? They would be the perfect thing for me to grow. Aside from being in love with them – Daffodils, Irises, Narcissi, Tulips … you name it I love it – they are no hassle, easy to grow, beautiful flowering plants. And to top it off, I tried growing them before. Okay granted they bloomed once but failed to even appear the other time, I remain undaunted. So I’m trying my hand again at growing these spring/summer beauties for bloom next year.
I’ve ordered my 200 mix spring/summer bulbs from BulbsDirect and they arrive in 2 weeks. I discovered Bulbsdirect online and they seem to have a wide variety to choose from and best of all they seem to be the cheapest supplier around. I know a lot of bulb growers say that you pay for what you get but hey, if you didn’t try them you’ll never know for sure right? And besides, they are based in Holland which is pretty much the land of the bulbs and they ship direct to your doorstep so how bad could that be? Still, shelling out money to an “unknown” company isn’t what I usually like to practice so I went hunting for reviews.
Dave’s Garden has sort of become my starting point for all gardening things. Aside from being a place where everyone can share their experiences, he’s set up a watchdog data base for mail-order companies. Unfortunately, Bulbsdirect wasn’t listed so I moved on to Google. I did eventually manage to find one review (a positive one) of the company online so I’m resting a bit easier.
Now, I’m just anxious awaiting their arrive and trying to decide where in the garden I should plant them.
